Happy Towel Day!

Happy Towel Day to all my fellow hitchhikers!

Every year on May 25 I celebrate Towel Day. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is an incredibly important book to me. One of my best friends bought me my first copy, and I immediately fell in love. There’s nothing quite like an intergalactic space adventure to make you realize the important things in life. I devoured the series, and everything else that Douglas Adams has written, multiple times.

I also tend to have frequent, in-depth conversations about the series with my Dad. He is the biggest nerd I know (and I know a lot of nerds) so these conversations are always hilarious. He remembers every single detail of the story, and always catches me off-guard with quirky references and timely pieces of advice that sometimes slip my mind. More often than not, when I call him for advice, his response is simple: DON’T PANIC. Sometimes, it’s more complex: “What would the dolphins do?”

If there was only one book I could recommend for you to read, it would be The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Trust me, your life will change.

Still debating? Not sure why towels are so important? If this quote doesn’t convince you, I’m not sure what will.

So, froods, grab your towels, make yourself a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, and go celebrate with all your pals!
