Book Review: Dead Silence

Dead Silence by S. A. Barnes

I am, once again, screaming incoherently about a book because it was so incredible, I HAVE NO WORDS!! Fans of space horror, you need to pre-order this one RIGHT NOW!

Dead Silence by S. A. Barnes has:
👻 Ghosts
🔪 Murder
😶 An unreliable narrator
🚀 A haunted, luxury spaceship
🌟 And a badass female lead who fights her demons and refuses to take a back seat

At the start of the story Claire and her crew are wrapping up a job in the middle of nowhere, outer space, when they pick up a strange distress signal. When they follow it to see who needs help, they find the Aurora: a luxury ship that went missing over 20 years ago. It was the biggest mystery of space travel, until now.

The team knows that if they can prove they found the Aurora—by bringing back items from the ship—they’ll be rewarded handsomely. But what they find on board is truly horrific. Messages written in blood, piles of dead bodies, and film footage that is both disturbing and confusing.

What actually happened to the original passengers on board? And what are Claire and her team unknowingly walking in to? You’ll have to read to find out! 🙃

I read this book in two sittings because I couldn’t put it down. It was fast-paced, eerie, and gave me chills. An easy five stars to this one! It would also make an excellent movie, for those who are brave enough to watch 👀

Thank you so much to Tor Nightfire for sending me an ARC in exchange for a review. Dead Silence by S. A. Barnes comes out on February 8, 2022.
